Connect Camp is a school holiday camp for young people aged 8-16 who are considered vulnerable, disadvantaged or at risk and are generally living in care or supported accommodation.
During the week of camp, our vibrant, experienced and passionate group of YMCA volunteers provide intensive support to the campers through one-on-one mentoring and group involvement.
Connect Camp aims to:
Provide a fun and safe environment for young people over the holiday period and promote constructive use of time through organised activities.
Recognise that every young person is a unique individual with particular physical, intellectual, social and emotional potential.
Ensure all young people learn about community values and leadership by empowering volunteers and staff role modelling.
While on camp:
Campers are divided into three age groups:
- Juniors (8 – 11 yrs old)
- Intermediates (12 – 14 yrs old)
- Seniors (15-16 yrs old)
- High adventure activities such as high ropes, giant swing or flying fox
- Group activities focusing on personal development
- Independent skills development through camp routines

Cost: $650 per participant, per camp (including transport, all food, accommodation, activities, one to one supervision)
